Last week Katie and I went to number 3 on the list, Flip Burger– Poncey-Highland. Like 5 Seasons Brewery, it was a bit further of a drive out of Buckhead but I do have to say it was worth it. As the insider tip in the countdown says, parking is tight! We opted for valet parking because the back roads were rather congested and slightly terrifying. The valet man was very friendly and complemented us both, so I already loved it! We went inside and asked to sit outside and luckily there was plenty of space available. The view wasn’t that spectacular from where we were sitting (we were looking over North Highland Avenue) but across the rooftop you could see a nice view of the midtown skyline. We went pretty early so it was still light out but I am sure that the view is great at night. There was a nice breeze too which kept us from getting too hot – always a plus!!
Everything on the menu looked amazing – take a gander for yourself. Katie ordered the Southern Burger which the waiter told us is new to the menu and is a chicken fried beef patty with pimento cheese, b&b pickles (not sure what those are), and coca-cola ketchup. She commented on how it was the best of both worlds: a hamburger and fried. It looked absolutely amazing and I almost ordered the same thing but at the last minute I decided to go with the Turkey Burger. It comes with Monterey cheese, crushed avocado, tomato, alfalfa sprouts, and pomegranate ketchup..YUM! We realized after taking a look at the menu that this was one of those fancy places that doesn’t give you fries with your burger. We decided on splitting the fried side sampler which comes with French fries, onion rings, tots and every kind of dipping sauce.
I wish I had taken a picture of all of our food to share but honestly I didn’t want to wait to dig in because it looked that amazing! I don’t think I have ever eaten a burger that fast in my life; I didn’t even put it down to take a breath or anything.
Overall service was great too – the manager stopped by to see if we needed anything and was very attentive. We were kind of in a rush to leave and the waiter took a little long with the check but that was not a big deal at all – I’d rather have that than a waiter who rushes you through dinner.
Much to Katie’s dismay, I made us take a picture before leaving!
I can’t wait to go back and highly recommend it to everyone –especially if you live around that area. I had never been to a Flip Burger before and I absolutely loved it! It might be a new goal of mine to try all the different burgers!
Next up on the list is Republic Social House! Any insider tips we should know?
